The victim went to a Phoenixville apartment in July 2019 to buy prescription drugs and methamphetamine from Jamane Raynor, 32, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
While there, Raynor also sold him “dope” – heroin laced with fentanyl, the DA's office said. The victim died from an overdose in his parents' basement the following day, the DA's office said.
“The defendant, in this case, had no regard for the victim’s life when he sold him a deadly combination of drugs," District Attorney Deborah Ryan said.
"This victim’s death was just one of an ever-increasing number that is related to fentanyl. A true tragedy.”
Raynor was sentenced to 17 and a half to 44 years in state prison for drug delivery resulting in death, after he was found guilty by a jury in October 2020.
The investigation was led by Phoenixville police Sgt. Brian MacIntyre.
The case was prosecuted by Chester County Assistant District Attorney Scott Werner.
